Short version: we collect what we need to answer your question, talk to you about fuel, and keep the site working. We don’t sell it. This page lays it out in full — what gets collected, how it’s used, who sees it, and how to reach us about it.
Boucher & Jones Fuels (“B&J,” “we,” “us”) is an authorized Petro-Canada wholesale marketer based in Waterloo, Ontario, serving southwestern Ontario. This page describes how we handle personal information that comes to us through bjweb.candidcreative.ca and the forms it carries.
It does not cover personal information you share with us off the site — phone calls to dispatch, conversations with a named rep, paperwork at install. Those are governed by the same principles, but the surfaces are different.
Three sources, all small:
We do not run third-party analytics on this site. No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no advertising trackers, no behavioural profiling.
Contact-form and intake-form submissions are used to reply to you and to set up a supply conversation if that’s what you asked for. If the conversation continues into an account, the same information becomes part of how we serve that account.
Server logs are used to operate the site — to find and fix broken pages, to investigate errors, and to detect abuse. They are not used to profile visitors or to build a marketing audience.
The site does not set tracking cookies. There is no advertising cookie, no analytics cookie, no cross-site identifier. A small number of strictly functional cookies may be set by the underlying platform — for things like remembering that you closed a banner during this visit, or carrying a session for a future logged-in feature. None of these identify you across sites.
Cloudflare sits in front of the site as our edge network and may set its own security-related cookies (for example, the bot-management cookie that lets a returning visitor skip a challenge). Cloudflare’s privacy notice covers what those cookies do; we do not have access to them as identifiers.
Contact and intake submissions are read by the B&J team that needs them to do the work — dispatch, the named rep handling your inquiry, the account manager if there is one. Server logs are read by the small operations team that keeps the site running.
We use a small set of service providers to operate the site. Cloudflare carries traffic between you and our servers and provides security and DNS. The site and its databases run on infrastructure we operate ourselves on dedicated hardware in Canada; we do not ship the contents of these forms to a third-party CRM, marketing platform, or advertising network.
We do not sell personal information. We do not trade it. We share it with third parties only when the law requires it — for example, a valid legal request from law enforcement — or when you’ve asked us to (for example, sharing equipment information with a Petro-Canada lubricants specialist on your behalf).
Contact-form submissions are kept as part of the conversation record. If a conversation doesn’t turn into an account, we keep the submission long enough to handle follow-up questions and to maintain a record of who reached out and when — typically a few years. If it does turn into an account, the submission becomes part of the account record and follows the same retention as the account.
Server logs are kept for a short operational window — typically 30 to 90 days — and are then deleted or aggregated past the point of identifying individual visitors.
We don’t keep information longer than we have a reason to. If you’d like a record removed and there’s no business or legal reason to keep it, we’ll remove it.
Under the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have a few specific rights with respect to personal information we hold about you:
For any privacy question — an access request, a correction, a complaint, or just to understand what we hold — use the contact form on this site and write “Privacy” in the message, or call dispatch during the workday at 519 743 3669. We’ll route it to the right person.
If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and move the effective date at the top. Substantive changes — anything that affects what we collect or who can see it — will be flagged on the homepage for a short period after the change.
Write “Privacy” in the message and the team will get back to you. A named person reads every one of these.
Standing routes across nine regions. Same rep year-round; off-hours emergency dispatch through the same number.
